“Across the Universe”,
the exhibit of galaxy and planetary collages,
opened last week at Ohori’s Coffee
(the Luna Center location).
We launched the tribute to the unearthly realms with a Coffee Reception on July 19, which was also the night of the full moon. Visitors enjoyed strong coffee (I was flying for hours later!) and tasty pastries while milling around the art.
As usual at gatherings like these in Santa Fe, connections were found between strangers (yes, the people from Jersey all found each other) and new friendships were forged. Open to view during regular business hours (7 am to 6 pm), the show continues through mid-October.
Afterwards, in the cool of the evening, I opened a bottle of wine that I had been saving for this occasion. I love the label. Full moon, good friends, and more than one reason to celebrate. Cheers!
This morning I took an early morning walk up Canyon Road, before any of the galleries opened. With its tall cottonwoods and flowery gardens and quaint galleries, this mile-long stretch of galleries is a pleasure for the eyes. Santa Fe has five arts districts, but Canyon Road must be the most charming. I usually stroll here on a Friday evening to hop to the art gallery openings, but in every hour and every season, it offers something enticing.
I am busy with the creation of a new work – it really took form during my work time at the Market on Sunday. Very colorful, and a bit bizarre. I’ll be working on it this Sunday as well at the Santa Fe Railyard Artisans Market. In the pavilion at Paseo and Guadalupe in Santa Fe, open 10 am to 4 pm. Nice and cool inside, coffee and ice cream, live music, and amazing art by talented artists – what a delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Peace and Love!
