Artist Statement

Pluto, so far from our Sun, was removed from the pantheon of planets in our solar system, considered by many to be an ice chip of little significance. This exclusion gave me the opportunity to explore exile, both chosen and imposed. This minimalist depiction is a meditation on separation and departure and lonely wandering.

Thrust into cold and lonely exile, the planetoid floats in remote orbit, divided from its former peers. Separation from the Sun is a choice, too.
