Journey to an Unexpected Destination

10" x 15"
2005
On a particular September morning, two friends phoned each other from their airplane seats.  They were excited: they were departing from Boston's Logan Airport, on two separate airplanes.  They planned to meet in Los Angeles for a long-planned vacation.  but their flights, one United, the other American, were diverted and they ended up at an unexpected destination: Manhattan - their planes plunged into tall office towers.
