Artist Statement

Our close planetary neighbor, Venus, is surrounded by clouds of carbon dioxide gas, which prevented the visual exploration by telescope.  But probes equipped with  radar, UV and  infrared  instruments are able to pierce the veil and map out the planets oceans and continents.  Here, we view it in traditional  Earth-like color.
