​​Most of the leaves have fallen in my neighborhood, signaling a new phase of Autumn. An early snow ended the vivid season; the icy blanket contrasted with the bronze leaves and purple flowers.  I managed to harvest my last tomatoes and some of the herbs.  The melting snow was welcome in the garden, and now it is time to hunker by the fire, read good books, touch base with family and friends and reminisce. 

Now it’s time to make plans for the future. I bought my 2021 planner and will start  entering dates… starting with birthdays and holidays. Hopefully, the calendar will fill up with the rescheduled visits and trips. Yes, my 2020 planner is full of Xs.  I had to cancel trips, art shows, much anticipated visits from dear friends, ordinary things, as I am sure many people had to X out wonderful things.  But a new year is in view, and a feeling of hope is rising.

New Work ahead

I am still working away.  A friend just gave me a cache of catalogs – three years’ worth! And I am finding little treasures to add to the collages that are in process now. Now is a good time to think about gifts for the holidays. I have coupons in my Etsy shops, and I will have holiday promotions as well. Keep on the look out for holiday specials!

​Let’s beat this virus that has so affected our lives.  Until we get a reliable, accessible vaccine, let’s work for each other.  I now avoid going into any store, trying to take advantage of free curbside pick-up. If I must be out and about – visiting the endodontist for a root canal, let’s say – I will wear a mask. And I hope you do too.
